Ask Lara Buchanan (January 20-24, 2020)

Hello, @Interested_In_Ask_RZIM friends!
I’m excited to announce that this week we will have one of my favourite South Africans on the forum answering our questions about faith and life - @Lara_Buchanan!

Lara is an OCCA Fellow and itinerant speaker with RZIM. She holds degrees in history, English literature, and a PGCE from the University of Cape Town, as well as a certificate in theology from Oxford University and in apologetics from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics (OCCA).

Lara has spoken in various contexts across Europe, America, Africa, and Asia at universities, conferences, schools, churches, and within the corporate sector. She relishes the privilege of engaging with people from different cultures and faith backgrounds and the opportunity of thinking together about the big questions of life. Lara enjoys communicating about the Christian worldview and has a particular interest in the Christian understanding of peace and reconciliation and how this informs our relationships with ourselves, with others, and with God. She has enjoyed traveling extensively and the opportunity that this has afforded her to engage with new people and new ideas.

Lara’s kindness and enthusiasm for the Gospel are contagious, so you won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to engage with her!

Lara, as you are no doubt aware in SA we have Christ followers who also consult witch doctors. What should be an “apologetic” response to such syncretism?
Thanks
