The Word One to One Book 7
June 21-27, 2020
This week is packed!
Mary anoints Jesus 12:1-11
He has triumphal entry into Jerusalem 12:12-19
Greeks seek out Jesus 12:20-26
The Word One to One book 7 notes (linked above) are extensive this week, and provide a range of good coverage.
You can see the culmination of all these events, and have a view of how God’s timing and plan is so interwoven into what may appear, in the moment, as unrelated. As this week’s reading ends with Greeks seeking Jesus, it’s a glimpse into the gospel for all mankind. I take a lot of comfort in this as we observe world events. We can take heart that even that which is planned for evil, such as the premeditated murder of Jesus by the Pharisee, is still under God’s sovereignty and purpose.
The verse that stopped me this week was 12:19:
So the Pharisees said to one another, “……Look how the whole world has gone after him!”
Oh, if only that were true! That is my prayer.
I liked the question at the end of this week’s material.
What are the benefits of losing my life?
