Overview: The 2019 Church Leaders Conference: "Blessed Are the Peacemakers"

(RZIM Premium Content) #1

“[God] reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18).

Tribalism. More and more, this description characterizes the trajectory of our society, as we are descending into an increasingly savage pack-mentality. Forget about civility: It’s the law of the jungle out there, and if you’re not with me, you’re against me. How ironic that, in a society that has worked so hard to resist drawing an absolute line between right and wrong, we are now so eager to label a right and a wrong side of history, and a right and a wrong kind of people.

When our newsfeeds are drowning in warfare rhetoric, how is God calling his people to engage? Will we batten down the hatches and sure up our defenses? Will we charge full-tilt into battle under the war cry, “take no prisoners?”

What does it look like for the church to be reconciled to God, to forgive one another as the Lord forgave, and to live out our message of reconciliation in a deeply-divided culture?

Helping us answer these critical questions will be Francis Chan, Ravi Zacharias, Becky Pippert, John Bechtel, Michael Ramsden, Lisa Fields, Abdu Murray, Judy Dabler, Vince Vitale, and other members of the RZIM team.

2019 Apologetics Day Writing Competition: How has apologetics impacted your life?

Hello,

I just registered for the Livestream of the conference at the end of May and I’m new to RZIM Connect. I clicked on the link that shows the speakers, times and topics but it seems that that document is not listing the topics. I did read the overview for the Church Leaders Conference but I was wondering if the lectures actually had more information on specific topics. Is there anywhere I can find this information or is it yet to be disclosed?

Thank you for any support,

Hi @Joe_Stempert,

Thank you for your question. Once we have a full schedule confirmed, this will be shared in the private area you have access to as a registered participant of the Church Leaders conference livestream.

In the event there was the miracle that a seat was to open up for this event, is there any possibility to reserve for the potential miracle? If there is someone I may email the request, additionally including the very important reason as to why I am requesting this, please let me know as soon as possible.

Thank you,
Benjamin James

Hi Benjamin, you can send me a PM and I will pass it along. However, given the demand for the event, at this point, we do not expect any seats to become available.

Hey RZIM(Carson), God’s will be done if I am supposed to be there or not.
Regarding to the email I sent prior requesting availability for the upcoming conference I wanted to additionally include that in the event that a seat doesn’t open up that I do not need a seat, even the side hall or behind the stage even a bathroom that would be fine. Communion with my brothers in Jesus Christ is more important than my comfort. Again, if I am supposed to be there I will be, thanks again for sending my messages Carson.

Thank you Carson, this every year in East London we have the “:.Global Leadership Summit.” I believe that the local (East London) organisers have a DVD and select which speakers to flight here. (Fits better in our time zone.)

I’m just wondering if the same concept could not apply with this RZIM conference? What do you think? Or even if your Cape Town branch did that? (I could fly there to attend.)
Stay blessed
Bill

Hi Bill,

Absolutely, we would encourage ministries and churches to host a group livestream of the conference, and then invite their community to join them for the conference!

Hey Carson, thank you for your heart to help in the event, for the event.

My thinking was that Carson. However the differences in time zones make it impractical. (I hosted a live stream (different topic) two weeks ago and attendance was dismal.)
Which is why I was thinking of the “GLS” format - where a recording is shown as if it were a live event.
Thank you Carson,
Bill

Hi Bill, I see! That’s a very interesting idea. I’m entirely supportive of it. Anyone who purchases the livestream will have indefinite access to it, so they could show it at their church a weekend or two after the event takes place.

Hi Carson,

Our church purchased the lifestream and will be inviting people in our community here in New Mexico. Two questions with that. 1. Is there a way for people to send questions during the Question and Answer sessions, for those who are offsite? 2. We are needing to test our system to make sure the connection will work during the livestream. Is there a link available to utilize to test this, so that we can make sure it will work on the day of the conference? We would hate to have people show up, and the connection not work.

Thanks for your help!

Hello Tabitha,

Thanks for reaching out with your questions. During the Q&A sessions, anyone who has purchased the stream will be able to ask questions through Pigeonhole. It’s a web based platform that will allow you to ask questions offsite. We encourage everyone to participate in asking questions during the Q&A session but with time constraints and the amount of questions coming in, please know that not every question will be answered.

When it comes to testing your livestream capabilities. Please use the link below for testing.

I hope this was helpful.

Blessings,
-Kevin

As a registrant of the conference, should I be seeing access somewhere on my RZIM Connect account to content for/from the conference?
