The Talmud and the Bible

Hi all

I’m currently trying to implement a skill from a book called Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World. It’s a secular book, but one I’d like to use nonetheless since I think it presents a skill that could be really useful. In one of the chapters, the author Cal Newport mentions one interview of a Jewish man named Adam Marlin gaining concentration benefits from studying the Talmud (concentration being something essential in mastering Deep Work).

So my question is: Is it possible to apply the same principles from studying the Talmud to studying the Bible?

If not, is there another way that I can use the Bible to do some concentration training?

This is not intended to be a short answer but perhaps you might try memorizing scripture; There is a group on connect have been memorizing books of the Bible, @Tim_Ramey is the lead on this.
Hope this helps.
