Theology resources from a non-western perspective

Hello,

I want to read theological and biblically philosophical material (i.e. meaning of life) from non-western perspectives. Do any of you have recommendations?

Sincerely,
Morgan Nix

Hi @morgannix18,

Great question!

Off the top of my mind, as a starting point, you might be interested in these resources:

  • Africa Bible Commentary: A One-Volume Commentary Written by 70 African Scholars published by Zondervan.

  • Ministering in Honor-Shame Cultures: Biblical Foundations and Practical Essentials by Jayson Georges

  • Books and other resources by Ajith Fernando (Sri Lanka)

I’ll be curious to hear other suggestions!

@morgannix18, here are a couple other resources that you may find useful -

  1. Theology in the Context of World Christianity: How the Global Church Is Influencing the Way We Think about and Discuss Theology - Timothy C Tennent
  2. The Gospel in a Pluralist Society - Lesslie Newbigin

Thank you Lakshmi!

Also, I thoroughly enjoyed, and was educated, by your post regarding yoga.

@morgannix18, you are welcome! The questions that non-westerners ask can be different from what westerners ask as we explain the gospel. I am also on the look out for more resources addressing this. Looking forward to other insights and questions that your studies bring up. Happy reading!
